Science Program

In keeping with our principle “Lanai Values Education” we have proudly funded a Science Lab and dedicated Science Lab instructor for over 20 years. Once a week students K-5 work collaboratively to conduct experiments that deepen their understanding of various scientific phenomena.

 

We largely use the FOSS Next Generation curriculum as our guide as we navigate through three units over the course of the year - Life Science, Earth Science and Physical Science. Each class the students are presented with a focus question, then conduct a related  experiment to provide evidence to answer the question.

 

Our lab is a space where students are encouraged to use their prior experiences and knowledge to make real world connections with the core material in the classroom.
