Music

Music at Lanai is about developing and exploring creativity and artistic expression in a setting that fosters collaboration, critical thinking skills, and social emotional learning.  During weekly music classes, students explore singing, instrument playing, note and rhythm-reading, composition, movement, dance, and music appreciation. Throughout the school year, all students play and perform a wide range of musical genres, as well as engaging in in-depth study of musical styles and instruments from around the world.  (Upper grade students even dive into music composition!)  

 

Performances at Lanai include winter and spring concerts, 5th grade culmination, and community assembly performances coordinated with Lanai's DEIB team to celebrate our diverse community.  Music at Lanai is focused on providing all students a place to explore their creativity in a challenging, fun, and supportive learning environment.
