Lanai Weekly: April 30 - May 4, 2018

Principal’s Message:

Dear Parents,

Lanai welcomes back our fourth graders as they return from their three-day trip to Catalina!  Boats, fish, hikes, snorkeling, labs—it was all there for our students as they explored the marine life and the surrounding habitats of Fox Landing!  I know they’ll have lots of fish tales to tell!

A big congratulations to our Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Manolos!  She was honored by the Encino Chamber of Commerce this year along with 16 other fantastic teachers from schools all across the valley!  The evening included speeches from school board members, community supporters and representatives from elected officials.  Lanai is one of the few schools to participate every year in this wonderful celebration of teachers who devote every day to the care and education of our students.

Finally, there are still problems with morning drop off.  Please remember that you may not double park to let your child off; you may not park too close and lock another car in; you may not let your child off at the corner of Marbro; you may however, use the drop off line for the safety of all children and drivers!  A copy of Lanai’s Traffic and Safety Rules will be sent home to every family next week as a reminder.

Wishing you a lovely weekend, and since you can read this, thank a teacher!
