Dear Parents,

Happy Rain, Happy Spring, Happy Nowruz, Happy Passover, Happy Easter!  Wishing all our families a wonderful Spring break, shared with friends and family.  

Looking forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday, April 3rd.  School is closed Monday, April 2nd in honor of Cesar Chavez Day.  Please remember that Lanai is a polling location on Tuesday, April 3rd.

HELP NEEDED TUESDAY, APRIL 3 - DROP OFF LINE VOLUNTEERS!   We are very light on sign-ups on the first day back from Spring Break.  If you have 30 minutes in the morning on Tuesday, April 3, we could use your help!  Please sign up here:    Receive 2 paw tickets for every child in your family if you sign up for a week that is not your child’s class.

SPECIAL ELECTION POLLING STATION IN THE LANAI AUDITORIUM - Tuesday, April 3 - Lanai’s auditorium will be used as the community polling station for the Special Election for the 45th Assembly District.  The polling station will be open from 7 am to 8 pm. Please note that there will be reserved parking spaces for the voters in the staff lot and we are asking parents to not park there during polling hours.

DOES YOUR CHILD LIKE TO DANCE?  Is your child interested in participating in the student dance for Israeli Culture Day on April 17? Boys and girls are welcome! Please email for more information. We are also looking for parent participants to support the spirit and help on that day, anytime between 7:30 am and 11:30 am.

LANAI’S EARTH DAY MUSEUM AND RECYCLED ART CONTEST - All students are invited to enter Lanai’s Recycled Art Contest and have their art displayed in Lanai’s Earth Day Museum! Students will have the opportunity to tour the museum on Friday, April 13 and vote for their favorite art.  Prizes will be awarded at morning assembly, Monday, April 16.

TAFT EXPLO-COMPLEX - April 12 from 5 - 8pm, at Taft Charter High School, 5461 Winnetka Ave, Woodland Hills.  A showcase of our community of schools including Lanai Road, Calvert, Encino, Nestle, Wilbur, Serrania and Woodland Hills Elementary.  Middle schools will include Portola, Woodland Hills Academy. High schools will be Taft and Thoreau Continuation School. Flyer attached.

SUMMER CAMP FAIR/EXPO EVENT will take place Sunday, April 22 at AC Stelle Middle School in Calabasas. This is a free event where Lanai Road and other San Fernando Valley kids and families can meet representatives from over 50 day camps, overnight camps, art camps, sports camps, acting camps, and every other kind of camp imaginable to ask questions, get brochures and other information, and learn about so many wonderful camp program opportunities for their kids available in L.A. There will also be food, fun, raffles and drawings for free camp sessions, sample activities and demonstrations from participating camps and more. Flyer is attached.
