Lanai Weekly: August 21 - 25, 2017

Principal's Message:

Dear Families,

Welcome Back to School!  New pencils, new crayons, new classrooms, new friends, new teachers, new backpacks, new sneakers—the first week of school is always filled with so much excitement!  As Tuesday began our students entered the gates with good morning smiles and high fives to their friends.  Many were back to their usual routine of logging morning laps.  As our students left on Tuesday I heard them telling their parents, “I have the best teacher!  My class is so fun!”

I know many parents are concerned about the solar eclipse that is occurring on Monday. Our teachers and staff decided that all students will be kept inside during the hours of 9 9am - 11am (the time it occurs in our area). This is the way we can ensure all our students are safe and protect their eyes.

I know this is going to be the BEST year!  Lanai has the kindest and most loving students; the most dedicated teachers; a tremendously supportive staff; and the most awesome families who devote countless hours to make all the wonderful things that occur here, happen.

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year at Lanai!

Lisa Elan
