Lanai Weekly: September 26-30, 2016

Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Each week, I’ll be highlighting people who help make Lanai great…

A big shout out goes to all our car valet volunteers!  They are the first people to greet our students each morning with their bright orange vests and friendly smiles.  They work tirelessly every morning and afternoon to insure the safety of our students and the efficacy of traffic control. Thank you for following their directions as they efficiently direct traffic and guide students.

Please join me on Monday, September 26 at 8:20 a.m. for Coffee with the Principal in the Parent Center.   It’s an opportunity to find out what’s going on at school and sharing ideas and suggestions.

I am pleased to announce that we have our ELAC members and officers in place.  Thank you to all parents who participated and supported us through this process.

Also, on Friday, September 30th at 1:30 p.m. we are having a School Site Council  (SSC) member and officer election in the Parent Center. The purpose of redoing this election is to comply with the District policy that permits parents/community members to run as members and officers of the SSC regardless of attendance at prior meetings.  As clarification, there was no wrongdoing on the part of current or former members and officers.   As a new principal, I am simply applying the rules and procedures as set forth by the District.  District staff will be at the September 30th election to assist.

Looking forward to seeing you around school and Happy Fall!
