Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

We have had an outstanding school year!  There are so many people who played an important part in our success.  I would like to thank the many people who worked together to build pride in our school and its accomplishments.

Thank you to our PTA Board and FOLB Board who are hardworking, positive and supportive, who always give so willingly of their time, talents and energy whenever and wherever they are needed.  A special thank you goes to PTA President Jennifer Wexler, and FOLB President Pondra Perkins for their dedication and countless hours they volunteered to ensure all events and fundraisers were successful.

A special thank you goes to the School Site Council and English Language Advisory Committee for their involvement and leadership in monitoring and evaluating our school plan and budget.

A special thank you goes to our many Parent Volunteers.  Parents who volunteer are a valuable and important component of the success of our school programs.  We need and greatly appreciate the hundreds of hours donated each year in our classrooms and across the campus in various capacities.

A special thank you goes to all the highly qualified teachers who have worked tirelessly to provide a productive and positive learning climate where opportunities for quality instruction, creativity and academic achievement for each student was accomplished.  They are among the best teachers the profession has to offer and we are fortunate to have their services here at Lanai.

A special thank you goes to all the support staff and classified staff who consistently demonstrate the highest degree of dedication and professional performance.  We are indeed fortunate to have so many wonderful, warm, caring people to work with and nurture our children.

A special thank you goes to Office Manager Denise Shane, and our incredible office staff: Tammy, Barbara, Amy, Robbie, and Betty, who make our days brighter and more efficient.  They handle the incredible demands and interruptions of the front office with skill, tact, efficiency and patience.  We value their warmth, caring and dedication.

A special thank you goes to our wonderful, supportive parents.  We greatly appreciate your unfailing support and involvement in your children’s education.  Parents who care and are actively involved in the school do make a difference in the success of their children.

And a special thank you goes to our students who have worked hard and demonstrated progress in all academic areas.  They have continued to amaze us with their skills, creativity and performance.  The Lanai staff cherishes the privilege we have in being able to work with such wonderful children.  They provide the joys and rewards that come from such an important responsibility as that of educating children.

Best wishes to our 5th grade class as they move on to Middle School.  They have worked hard since joining Lanai in Kindergarten, made great contributions and will be missed.  Remember the Lanai saying, “Once a Lion, Always a Lion”.

It is truly an honor to serve as Lanai’s Principal.  Thank you again for a tremendous school year and have a great summer!
