Principal’s Message:

Dear Lanai Parents,

We have had an outstanding school year.  There are so many people who played an important part in our success.  I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks to  Mr. Ramon Cortines our Superintendent, Mr. Byron Maltez, Superintendent of Instruction for ESC North and School Board members for their leadership, vision, and continued support.  I would also like to thank the many people who worked together to build pride in our school and its accomplishments. Thank you to our PTA and FOLB Boards who are hardworking, positive, and supportive, who always give so willingly of their time, talents and energy whenever and wherever they are needed. A special thank you goes to Mrs. Jennifer Wexler, our outstanding PTA President and Mrs. Pondra Perkins, our incredible FOLB President.  Their dedication and caring for the children at Lanai has been an inspirational model for others.  We appreciate the volunteer hours they have contributed to this school and thank them for their excellent leadership and strong child advocacy. A special thank you goes to the School Site Council and English Language Advisory Committee members for their involvement and leadership in monitoring and evaluating our school plan. A special thank you goes to our many Volunteers.  Parents who volunteer are a valuable and important component of the success of our school programs.  We need and greatly appreciate the hundreds of hours donated each year in our classrooms and across the campus. A special thank you goes to all the highly qualified teachers who have worked tirelessly to provide a productive and positive learning climate where opportunities for quality instruction, creativity and academic achievement for each student was accomplished.  They are among the best teachers the profession has to offer and we are fortunate to have their services here at Lanai.  A special thank you goes to all the support staff and classified staff who consistently demonstrate the highest degree of dedication and professional performance.  We are indeed fortunate to have so many wonderful, warm, caring people to work with and nurture our children.  A special thank you goes to our office staff, Denise Shane, Tammy Quist, Amy Kerr, and Betty Brennan, who make our days brighter and more efficient.  They handle the incredible demands and interruptions of the front office with skill, tact, efficiency, and patience.  We value their warmth, caring, and dedication.  A special thank you goes to our wonderful, supportive parents.  We greatly appreciate your  unfailing support and involvement in your children’s education.  Parents who care and are actively involved in the school do make a difference in the success of their children.  And a special thank you goes to our students who have worked hard and demonstrated fine progress in all academic areas.  They have continued to amaze us with their skills, creativity, and performance.  The Lanai Staff cherishes the privilege we have in being able to work with such wonderful children.  They provide the joys and rewards that come from such an important responsibility as that of educating children.

To our outgoing 5th grade class, remember that Once a Lion, Always a Lion!

Thank you all and have a great summer!

Mr. Hansen
