Lanai Weekly: Oct 6, 2014

Principal’s Message:

Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff, Students and School Community,

Each year the U. S. Department of Education seeks out and celebrates great American schools that demonstrate that all students can achieve at high levels.  The National Blue Ribbon School honor is a symbol of exemplary teaching and learning.  I am pleased to share that Lanai Road has been named a 2014 National Blue Ribbon School!   On September 30, 2014, Arne Duncan, Education Secretary, announced that 337 schools from 47 states were awarded National Blue Ribbon status.  We are honored to be the only recipient this year from Los Angeles Unified School District.  This is an honor shared by all students, parents, teachers, staff and volunteers that have worked so hard to make Lanai the wonderful school it is.

Thank you to everyone for your dedication, commitment and diligence in serving the students of Lanai.  Whether you are new to the school or have been a part for several years, know that your efforts helped build the foundation of Lanai that continues today.

Lanai Road stands alongside the best schools in the country.  Congratulations Lanai!

Mr. Hansen
