Lanai Events

Blue Ribbon Nomination Lanai is one of only 35 schools nominated this year for the prestigious Blue Ribbon Award. Mrs. Garcia and Mrs. Taylor have worked tirelessly alongside our Lanai teaching staff to complete the lengthy award application. We thank them, along with our entire school community, for continuing to foster the high level of academic and enriching educational experiences that have qualified Lanai Road Elementary for this nomination and potential award.

Persian New Year - Thank You A supreme Thank You to all the Parent Volunteers of Lanai’s ELAC committee who brought our Annual Norooz (Persian New Year) Celebration to life! Lanai Dad John Jomehri got the festivities going by reprising his role as “Amo Norooz,” and we were honored to have renowned singer and Lanai mom, Shahrzad Sepanlou sing a spirited and beautiful song at the morning assembly that got the whole school smiling! Thanks also to Lanai T.A., Miss Suzan, who taught Lanai students of all grades a variety of Persian dance moves for our special presentation. Everyone got to sample delicious Persian rice at lunchtime thanks to Beverly Catering. Please be sure to ask your kids about the event!

Team Lanai Cares (TLC) – March & April Donations ’Tis the month(s) to fill up a bin in front of our school. TLC is collecting items in the large brown bins in front of the school to donate to people on Skid Row. Each grade has adopted a bin and is pushing to see how many times they can get filled up by the end of April. Clean out your clutter and help someone else by dropping off unused hotel shampoos, lotions, chap sticks, socks, etc. (See flyer in online BPN.) Imagine what you would want if you lived in a cardboard box. Lets help TLC help others!

Spring Break: S.E.E.D.S will offer child care! Please see online “News” for details & enrollment form.
