Lanai Weekly: Dec 1, 2014

Lanai Weekly  Dec 1-5, Week 16

Principal’s Message:

On Monday, our Blue Ribbon Award Ceremony was a huge success!  The assembly allowed us to recognize the amazing teachers (both present and past), staff, students, parents, and volunteers who made this award possible.  I want to give a big thanks to everyone on our Blue Ribbon Committee who spent the last month meeting, planning, and preparing the school for the ceremony.  I also want to thank everyone who spent their time sprucing up the school and gave up their Sunday to set up for the event.  Lanai has never looked so spectacular, and we appreciate all of your hard work.  I especially want to acknowledge the following people:  Mike Chase (Chair), Michelle Siembieda, Alisa Lippman, Lisa Edley, Beth Manolos, Coach P.J., Masha Turner, Jennifer Taylor, Nancy Miller and Lene Levy.

Mr. Hansen

Teacher’s Snack Volunteers Needed. We still have a few spots to fill for our Tuesday teacher snack. If you're not familiar with this perk we provide for our fabulous teachers, here is how it works:  You provide snacks, drinks and paper products for the teachers (30 people) on Tuesdays after school (they have meetings every Tuesday immediately following our early dismissal). We meet you curbside in front of the school at 1:00 on your Tuesday, help you unload and set up the snack in the 5th grade room. That's it!  Some things brought to the teachers in the past have been Coral Tree Cafe salads, pizza, sushi platters from Farm Boy, Daphne's, Chinese food, cold cuts, cheese and crackers, fruit, cookies, water, tea, etc.

It's also a great idea to buddy up with another parent to save on cost or to even get a little more extravagant!

The teachers love this perk and are ever so grateful. We still need volunteers for the following dates:  December 9th, January 20th and 27th, February 24th, March 10th and 24th, and April 7th.
