Our first week of school was full of smiles! It is wonderful seeing 585 happy students hanging out with their friends and loving their new classes and teachers! They also grew over the summer—it must be the sunshine! Every year at the opening the school is totally “abuzz” with activity! I must say this year was very smooth— all our new students adjusted quickly and there were very few tears in kindergarten! It takes a village to raise a child and the Lanai village spreads so much love, caring and warmth, that our students thrive from the very first day!
In addition to our new students, we have some new staff you’ll see on campus. We have a new first grade teacher, Mrs. Byrne, two new music teachers, and six new TAs! Your child is sure to tell you how awesome they all are! You’ll learn more about them in upcoming issues of the Lanai Leader.
Just some reminders: Please follow all parking and driving rules on and around campus—our students’ safety is number one. Please remember that the parking lot is ONLY for staff during school hours. It’s always fun to review the Car Safety Video. You’ll find it on our website, along with additional Lanai information.
I’m looking forward to another great year at Lanai—sharing learning, curiosity and exploration with our students.
