Lanai Weekly: May 21 - 25, 2018

Principal's Message:

Dear Parents,

What an exciting week!  It begun Lexia awards and CPK night on Monday and then onto Tuesday with our wildly, successful Laps for Lanai Fun Run!  The weather was perfect and everyone had a great afternoon! I know this was a different experience for many of our students and families, but the word around school is two thumbs-up!

Looking forward to next week, all our classrooms are buzzing in preparation for Open House on Tuesday night.  Come for a pizza dinner from 5:00-6:00 and then classroom visits from 6:00-7:00! It is a time to see the terrific work your children have completed throughout the year and a preview of what’s to come.  A fun night for all!

Our State Champions, the 5th Grade DIY (Do It Yo) Destination Imagination team is holding a fundraiser this Saturday, May 19 at Chipotle at 18700 Ventura Blvd from 5pm to 9pm. 50% of the proceeds will go towards the costs associated with traveling to Texas next week for the Global Finals! Lanai is the only LAUSD school attending and will be competing against teams from 45 states and 14 countries.

If you have a chance, please join us for the SEEDs musical theater presentation of “Life After Lanai”--(Is that even possible?)!  There are two shows—Friday night at 6:00 p.m. and Saturday at 11:00 a.m. We hope to see you there!

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Warmly,

Lisa Elan
