I have some exciting news! Assemblymember Matt Dababneh will be visiting our campus next Thursday, September 28th at 8:00 a.m. He has selected Lanai because September is Pedestrian Safety month and we have many students and families walking safely into school with the help of our crossing guards. Assemblymember Dababneh will be meeting and greeting our families on the sidewalk as they enter school. There will probably be media with him as well. If you do not want you or your child(ren) potentially photographed, please do not plan on walking into school—use the car drop-off line. After the morning event, Assemblymember Dababneh will join us in the auditorium for a community chat and coffee. All our families are welcome and encouraged to attend!
I know our families are extra cautious regarding driving, drop-off, and pedestrian safety as well as following the parking and traffic rules. The CHP, school police and LAPD will be showing their presence quite a bit in the coming days. As a reminder, please be courteous to our crossing guards and neighbors.
Lanai’s spirit and pride is strong in our community and I know our warmth, kindness and positive energy will shine forth as we welcome Assemblymember Dababneh.
