What a week! Student Council speeches and elections, Open House, and only two weeks left of school! As I walked through the classrooms on Tuesday night, I saw so many wonderful experiences that your child participated in this year. The Life Cycle of a Butterfly, ABC books, the Circulatory System, Mars Survival biomes, art pieces from classic to contemporary, 3-D shapes, volume using everyday products, and much more. In every classroom, children were proudly showing their parents the work and projects they have completed as part of their learning. Learning magic was everywhere!
Also on Wednesday, the Safety Committee, composed of teachers, staff, parents, and administration, held our monthly meeting and reviewed Lanai’s procedures on our positive discipline policy and the way it’s explained and implemented to students and parents. We also discussed the use of the newest toy craze - finger spinners. The committee came to the decision that these spinners are a distraction and pose a potential danger. Thus, we are asking parents to please have your child keep their finger spinners at home for at-home play.
Finally, as we honor Memorial Day, let us remember all the men and women who bravely served in our armed forces and provided us the freedom and opportunities that we all enjoy today.
