Lanai Weekly: January 23-January 27, 2017

Principal’s Message

Dear Families,

This has honestly been a true, blue, busy, wet week at Lanai!  Even though it was a short week, we started off with LEXIA awards for our K-2 students achieving a new level in reading!  Our Character theme this month is Trustworthiness and on Wednesday our Student Council presented a skit they wrote themselves.  They showed that a trustworthy friend keeps promises, returns items held for safekeeping, and is fair when playing games.  Later, all our students saw a wonderful presentation focusing on the importance of being honest with their family and friends and the difference between reality and imagination!

The School Experience Survey was sent home with your child this week.  There is only one envelope per family, thus if you have multiple children at Lanai, just your oldest child received the survey.  This year you have the option to fill it out and return it to school or complete the survey online at bit.ly/LAUSD2017. If you take the survey online, please input the 10-digit parent code found on the top right corner of your parent letter, then print the “Thank you” form and have your child return it to school.  Please be assured that your survey is confidential.  We are hoping to have 100% participation.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Lisa Elan
