Lanai Weekly: November 28, 2016

Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

As our teachers wrapped-up their Parent/Teacher conferences this week and many of our classes celebrated Thanksgiving it’s hard to believe we have completed the first trimester of the 2016-17 school year.  It has been a fast, 60 days. But now, during Thanksgiving week, try to find some “slow time” with your family and friends.  The weather is cooler, the days become dark earlier, a breeze is in the air and leaves are scattered on the ground.  It’s definitely time to pick up a book or share a story with your child.  Grab some cookies (or the last slice of pumpkin pie) find that comfy spot on the couch, disconnect the electronics and fall into a great read.  This is the time to relax, recharge, and relate.

For me, that means sleeping until 8:30 in the morning; indulging in a novel or two; hanging out with my family and friends and playing with my grandson.  Relax, recharge, relate.  Eat.  Enjoy. And be thankful.

Fondly,

Lisa Elan
