On Tuesday, our Kindergarten through 3rd grade classes attended a fire safety assembly sponsored by the Children’s Burn Foundation. The children learned that home fires can start and spread quickly, which is why we all need to be careful and educated when it comes to fire safety. The students were asked to bring home the information they learned about checking smoke detectors, using the back of their hands to test for hot doors before opening them, crawling out of a smoke filled room, and making a fire safety plan with their parents. Please take a moment to ask your child about what they learned about fire safety. Just a little bit of planning can make a big difference in keeping our children safe.
