Please join the Lanai Road Staff for our 2014 Back-to-School Night on Tuesday (Grades TK-2 and Mrs. Miller’s 3rd grade class) and Wednesday (Grades 3-5). The goal of Back-to-School Night is to connect students' families with their new classrooms and teachers. The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with Spirit Wear sales in front of school. Classroom sessions will begin at 6:00 p.m. in your child’s classroom with the exception of 5th grade. Please be seated in the classroom a few minutes prior. Parents of all 5th grade students are asked to meet in the auditorium at 6:00 p.m. In addition, Mr. Snyder’s 4/5 presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m., then 5th grade parents are welcome to go to the auditorium. We look forward to a great evening!

Volunteering on Campus
Volunteers are a vital resource for Lanai. They bring much needed assistance, experience and knowledge to our school communities. LAUSD processed over 14,000 new school volunteers during the 2012-2013 school year. All LAUSD volunteers must complete a School Volunteer Application, click on the link or goto are available at www.lanairoad.net/volunteer, to download before coming into the classroom. Tuberculosis (TB) clearance must be on file and take place within a six-month period prior to beginning a volunteer assignment, TB tests are good for 4 years. Fill out pg. 8 yourself and 10 (by a physician) and turn into the Parent Center Coordinator email@example.com Once received, your completed application and TB test will be submitted to the LAUSD Parent Community Service Branch (PCSB).
A few things:
- Discipline is the teacher’s responsibility.
- All student work and behavior is confidential.
- Children not enrolled at the school are not allowed in class, if supervised they are welcome in the family center.
- Please inform the teacher if you are unable to volunteer at your assigned time so they can plan.
For safety all visitors MUST SIGN IN the office, on either the visitor or volunteer log, if you are on the premises between 8:16 am and 2:30 pm. You must wear a yellow visitor badge and MUST SIGN OUT when you leave campus. If your name is listed as being on campus you will be part of the list of people that are searched for in case of an emergency, so please sign out! You are welcome to come on campus after 2:30 pm to pick up your child. You may remain in the area by the lunch tables or in Room 3 the Family Center so as not to disturb the classrooms.
