Catalina Wrap Up Thank you to Mrs. Bryan for organizing an amazing 4th grade trip to Catalina. Our students had an excellent time and we are incredibly proud of them. Thanks also to Miss Alix, Mr. Snyder, Ms. Hinckson, Miss Trina, Mr. Gene and Coach P.J. for chaperoning our kids.

Movie Night Thank You Thank you to PTA and Camp Keystone for hosting Movie Night this past Saturday. We had a great turnout and students and parents enjoyed watching “The Nut Job” together.

School Experience Survey – please take the survey by May 20! If you have not already done so, please fill out the LAUSD School Experience Survey by May 20. This important school survey documents the perceptions of parents, staff and students, grades 3-12. Data received will allow schools to plan for improvement. Smarter Balanced Testing – continues this week Rooms 13 & 20 will test on Tuesday and room 12 tests on Wednesday.

Orchestra Concert On Tuesday, May 6, Lanai’s Orchestra performance at the Holy Spirit Center will start at 6:30pm.

Team Lanai Cares – Cans Across the Schoolyard – canned food drive contest Who can bring in the most pounds of cans during a one week period? Start collecting now and please send as many cans as possible. We do need volunteers to help with the weighing at lunch. Please let Lisa Ely know if you are available any day of the week during lunch by emailing lisaely@mac.com. All cans will be delivered to SOVA.

School Meetings this Week – ELAC & SSC Our last ELAC meeting of the year will be this Thursday, May 8th at 8:20am.
Our last SSC meeting of the year will be this Friday, May 9th at 1:30pm. Please join us!

4th Grade Gold Rush Activity – May 8th 4th grade families; be sure to ask your kids about it!

5th Grade “Plays in Progress” – Friday, May 9 Lanai’s Theater program invites all 5th grade families to a “Plays in Progress” presentation on Friday, May 9th. Please see detailed schedule online in the “News.”

Citizenship Day – Wear Purple May 14 Our Character Counts program concludes with Citizenship on May 14. Everyone is invited to wear purple. Be sure to ask your kids what they learned at the Character Assemblies!
